How To Get Started Selling On Amazon

Since sharing my success selling on Amazon, the number one question I get asked is: How do you start!?

I went from being unemployed to selling on Amazon and making a profit in 4 months, with only $500 cash.

And I did it the hard way! I always say I wish I had known about selling on Amazon before I quit my job. I could have done those first 4 months of selling while I was still employed! Selling on Amazon is so easy, you don’t need to quit your job to start, you don’t need a ton of cash, and you don’t need to know anything about selling before you start.

I planned to leave my job to travel the country in 2017. I built up my savings account to cover the time while I figured out what I wanted to do for income. During that time of being unemployed I found out about retail arbitrage and Selling on Amazon.

I did an online course in July & August and started buying my first stock mid-August. I saw my first sales as soon as the inventory hit the warehouse! It was so much fun watching the sales, I was hooked.

Answering All The Getting Started Questions Below!

I have gotten a ton of questions on everything from: how to start, what to buy, how much to buy, and when do you get paid! I sat down to answer them all and update on how I am doing with the business after a year and a half of selling. Check out the full video below.

How Do You Get Started?

Honestly, I am so thankful for the first online course I invested in. Without it, I wouldn’t have found the success I did as fast as I did. Since taking that course and going through many trials and errors I have created my own Beginner FBA Course to help you get started! This course walks you through the entire process of setting up your account, how to find profitable products, how to list those products, and how to pack, prep, and ship your items. In addition to the course, you will be added to a private Facebook group where you can ask questions, get extra help and support, and connect with other members.

When I started, I bought the course, and had $500 I used for supplies and starting inventory. You can find all the supplies I use here. My first shipment was 25 units across 9 different items. I sourced from Walmart & Walgreens clearance aisles as well as a local mom & pop bargain store. The items included everything from toilet cleaner to a baby doll.

When you are starting out, they teach you to scan everything! You never know what someone will pay for an item on Amazon. Just because it is strange to you doesn’t mean someone out there doesn’t need or want it!

Can I Do This & Work Full-Time?

Yes! I am constantly saying I wish I had started when I was still working my 9-to-5. Use a couple of hours a week you can find, after work, at lunch, on the weekend, to shop. Once you have your items, you can pack and ship them out in a few more hours. If you can scrape together 4-6 hours a week, you can do this and be very successful.

In fact, in the facebook group, most people are doing this while they work their full-time job. Many with families and kids and they find the time and make it work. If you have a goal to quit your job or just need some extra income, you can make it happen by selling on Amazon.

Just Start!

Like most things in life, the hardest part is starting. Once you’ve got the training you’re ready to go out shopping but most people get stuck in the unknown of where to start. You can set up a free selling account when you start and begin to scan in store.

It honestly is so easy and simple to do, even though it might seem daunting. Shopping is easy, listing the items you’ve purchased is easy, and packing is easy!

If you’re worried about whether or not to buy an item, as long as it fits within my free rank guide criteria, BUY IT! Just like when you see a health change start to work, when you see your first sales you’ll be so motivated to keep going! And soon you just might be able to take that vacation, pay off a debt, or even quit your job!
